LG TV - How To Turn On/Off Audio Guidance

At a Glance

By default, the audio guidance function is enabled out of the box to aid visually impaired users in navigating the TV menus. However, it can be disabled during the initial setup process or at a later time within the TV settings menu.

Try This

1Press and hold the mute button on your LG TV remote until the [Accessibility] menu displays on the TV screen.

Menu layout may vary depending on WebOS version and TV model.

2If Audio Guidance is [ON], set the function to [OFF].

[Enable the Function] toggle toggled on.
  1. Do you still hear the descriptive voice?

    Yes No
  2. Great! Glad we were able to resolve your issue!

  3. Shake the magic remote. Does the pointer appear on screen?

  4. This indicates Audio Guidance has been disabled.

    If the voice heard is narrating the program being viewed, this would be audio description.

    Audio description is designed to provide context, and articulate visual elements. This is not a feature of the LG TV but of the specific smart app or connected external device.

    Typically, it can be deactivated within the captions menu of the smart app or connected device.

  5. This indicates the audio guidance is still in operation. Please attempt steps 1 and 2 once more.
