- This guide covers ways to self-resolve issues that may occur while using the TV’s smart features.
If the issue persists even after taking the measures described in this guide, please contact LG Electronics Customer Service. - For network problems, you may need to contact your Internet service provider first.
- Smart features that involve executing the TV apps through the home screen may not work smoothly on TVs purchased before 2016.
- Remote controls of other devices, such as a set-top box, etc. cannot be used to control smart features. Be sure to distinguish it from the TV remote control.
- The TV is a different product from a mobile phone. Only apps supported by the TV can be installed through the Content Store or Apps card in the home menu.
Apps that do not appear in the search result cannot be installed and used on the TV. - Apps supported by the TV may vary by region of residence. You can check the supported apps on the LG Content Store homepage.
- Some of the apps for the TV cannot be deleted.
- Make sure that the remote control you have is a Magic Remote.
Other remote controls, such as those for set-top boxes or Apple TV, do not function as pointers when connected to the TV and cannot access the TV's smart features. - When purchasing a new Magic Remote, make sure that it is compatible with your TV.
If the TV and remote control are not compatible, the pointer function will not work. - The Magic Remote must establish a connection with the TV during its first use. To do this, point the Magic Remote at the TV and press the OK button; the pointer will then appear.
- When you use the Magic Remote, a pointer appears on the TV screen.
This pointer moves within the screen like a computer mouse, following the movement of Magic Remote.
You can select a menu by positioning the pointer on the desired menu and pressing the wheel button in the center of the remote control. - When you press the Home button , the home screen appears, and cards showing various functions appear.
- Select the desired card to execute the function. When exiting, follow the instructions in the app to exit, or press the Exit button on the remote control.
- Some apps can be executed using the shortcut button.
- The shape and color of the pointer may vary depending on the version of the remote control.
- Make sure that you are using the TV remote control.
- Smart features cannot be used on TVs that are outdated or do not have a home button on the remote control.
- For standard remote controls, the pointer does not appear on the screen.
- You can navigate through menus and cards using the arrow keys.
- When a card is selected, press the OK button in the middle of the arrow keys to execute the desired function.
- Use Smart features by launching the Home screen. Press the Home button to launch the screen.
- Some apps can be launched using the shortcut buttons on the remote control. The arrow-shaped Exit button can be used to exit the function.
- TLG TVs operate on a different system to the mobile phone - webOS differs from IOS and Android.
Not all apps used on the mobile phone are supported on the TV. - Apps that are not searchable on the TV are not supported in your region or by your TV model.

- On the LG Content Store web page, select the region in which you are currently using your TV.
- Search for content by using the search function.
- If the content you are looking for does not show in the search results, it may not be supported.
Even if the app is supported on LG TVs, the availability of the app also depends on the year your TV model was released.
- If an error occurs in one specific app, it is likely that there is a problem with the app itself.
You may need to check the app developer's website for troubleshooting or update the app. - If none of the installed apps work, it is likely that the TV's settings have changed or there is an internet problem.
Please check the TV's settings and internet connection status.

Internet Browser
You can use the Internet browser as you would on a PC, but websites that rely heavily on the TV system may be slow and cause errors.
Web pages that are not optimized for TV may not be usable, depending on the TV’s specifications.
App Error
The following error message may occur when playing content in an app.
Error codes or error messages displayed by the app cannot be resolved by troubleshooting the TV.
Actions you can try on your TV include deleting and reinstalling the app, or updating the app to the latest version.
Select the Apps or Content Store card on the home screen to see information about the app.
If an update is available, update the app and check whether the error resolves.
To delete a TV app, select the app you want to delete from the home screen, and long press the OK on the remote control for 5 seconds.
Next, select the trash can icon in the edit screen that appears to delete the app.
If you are notified of memory shortage while downloading an app, you can free up space by deleting unused apps as shown below.
You can reinstall apps that you have deleted from the Home screen’s Apps card or the Content Store. The appearance of the cards for selecting TV apps may vary depending on the version and the year the TV was released.

You can find and install apps using the search function.
Check the TV's Internet status.
For models that do not display the network status, proceed to the next step.

When an Internet problem occurs, first reboot the Internet router.
To reboot the router, unplug the power cord and then reconnect it.
If the problem persists even after rebooting the router, check for any disconnections or damage to the internet cables.
Internet equipment is often connected with many cables, so please handle them carefully.
