LG Front Load Washing Machine - Shipping Materials & Vibration
Welcome to the LG support video. Here we will discuss possible ways to reduce vibration in your LG front load washing machine.
If your machine is experiencing excessive vibration some reasons may be single items, unbalanced or heavy items with light items, tangled loads, bulky items, or comforters.
Sometimes avoiding these conditions for your washer will eliminate vibration. If this is still occurring, some other issues could be extraneous shipping materials or leveling.
There are two elements from shipping that could still be attached to your washer causing excess vibration. The first are for shipping bolts attached to the rear of your washing machine.
If the bolts are still there, remove them by using the wrench provided with your washer. Loosen the bolts by turning them counterclockwise. Once loosened, pull them out and save these bolts for future use if you need to transport the washer elsewhere.
The bolts will be necessary to prevent damage to the internal components. Locate the four hold caps included in the accessory pack that you received with your washing machine and install them into the shipping bolt holes. Failure to remove the shipping bolts and retainers before use may cause severe vibration and noise which can lead to permanent damage to the washer.
The second possible cause of excessive vibration is a shipping block that might be caught under the washer. LG front load washers are shipped with a foam block and the base to support the tub during shipping.
Tilt the washer back to check for the foam block. Caution, do this with two people to avoid injury.
If wedged under the tub simply removed the foam block.
The drum of your washer spins at very high speeds. To minimize vibration noise and unwanted movement, your washer must be level and installed on a level solid flooring with properly adjusted feet.
To check this first place a level across the top of your washer and adjust the leveling feet until your washer is level from side to side and front to back.
After any adjustment, make sure that the lock nuts on all four feet are tight. If any of the lock nuts are loose, tighten them with a wrench included with the washer.
Next, check that all four leveling feet are firmly and evenly in contact with the floor. To test this rock the washer from corner to corner in each direction.
If the washer rocks more in one direction than the other then the feet are not properly adjusted loosen the lock nut on the foot that is rocking and adjust the foot up or down until the rocking is minimized and is the same in both directions. Tighten the lock nut once you have made these adjustments.
Test the machine by setting it to the spin cycle with a load of laundry.
Load the washing machine with a light load, press the power button, then press the rinse and spin cycle option.
Press the start button and check if water is supplied that the washing machine does not rock or vibrate excessively and that it drains well during the spin cycle.
If the washing machine rocks and vibrates excessively, try leveling the washing machine again.
Loosen the locknut on one of the front feet and adjust the foot up or down until the vibration is minimized.
Once this adjustment has been made, be sure to tighten the locknut. Your washing machine is now ready for quieter use.

Ensure Shipping Bolts and Packing Material Are Removed
To prevent damage to the product during shipping, the shipping bolts are fastened at the rear of the product to fix the tub.
1Open the door and move the tub forward and backward.
2If the tub moves forward and backward, the fixing bolts have been removed. If the tub does not move forward and backward, the fixing bolts are still fastened.
3Remove all the fixing bolts from the rear of the product using a suitable spanner, and block the bolt holes with the caps provided.

Check if the Washer is Level
1Press and hold in opposing directions (corner to corner) to see if there is any rocking of the washer.
2If there is downward movement on one side, adjust the legs on that side as needed. Retry the diagonal rocking check again to ensure correct leveling.

Adjust the Load Size
The washing machine performs best when you load the tub to about 2/3 of its capacity, as the laundry can move freely within the tub.
1Pause the washing machine.
2Remove the laundry.
3Put it back in spreading it evenly.
4Make sure the laundry is evenly spread in the tub and choose a suitable intensity of spin cycle.
