Noises during cycle - Top Load Washer
The lid is locked during operation for safety.
It is normal to hear a noise when the lid is locked or unlocked. Do not try to force the lid open if it is locked.
If the wash motion switches from wash plate rotation to tub rotation, the wash plate moves to the left and right to align the motor gears.
When this happens, you may hear a clicking noise.
Close zippers, buttons, and drawstrings, and wash garments inside out to help prevent tangling and protect other items.
Check pockets while loading the laundry to remove coins, keys, lighters, or other objects that could damage the washer or your clothing. Zippers, buttons, or other items may hit the wall of the tub and cause a rattling or tinkling sound.
You may also hear the motor during the wash cycle. This is normal.
If foreign objects become stuck between the wash plate and the tub, or if a wire is caught in the wall of the tub, you may hear a screeching or rubbing noise when the tub is spinning. Stop the cycle and remove the laundry. Check the tub for coins, wires, or other foreign objects.
If foreign objects are found, remove them from the tub.
