Internet Of Things Ushering In A Period Of Technological Revolution Reiterates LG

12/27/2015

The “Internet of things” (IoT) is becoming an increasingly growing topic of conversation both in the workplace and outside of it. It’s a concept that not only has the potential to impact how we live but also how we work. IoT will help functioning autonomously, creating self-aware systems out of existing real-world objects that will monitor and improve environment.

Internet is one of the most important and powerful creations in all of human history. Now consider that IoT represents the next evolution of the Internet, taking a huge leap in its ability to gather, analyze, and distribute data that we can turn into information, knowledge, and, ultimately, wisdom. In this context, IoT becomes immensely important.

According to a recent economic forecast released by consulting firm McKinsey & Company - By 2025, the Internet of Things (IoT) will become more mainstream, having an economic impact between $3.9 trillion and $11.1 trillion per year.

With IoT is ushering in a period of greater economic efficiency, Global consumer electronics giant LG has set its sights on another groundbreaking year in 2016 as it seeks to strengthen its position as a trendsetter in the consumer electronics market.

Many cities around the Middle East are leading the way globally in showing how IoT can be used to improve how government services are delivered.

“Internet of Things is not a concept it is a network which has the potential to change the world. As a company we have embraced the potential of the IoT technology and are constantly pushing boundaries with our smart innovations. We have positioned ourselves for success in the rapidly emerging IoT marketplace, and the coming years will see further progress, says Mr. Y.G.Choi, President of LG Electronics Gulf FZE.

LG has long been an innovator in connected technology, and the company’s latest devices incorporate insight gained from the company’s years of experience at the forefront of this exciting market. Gartners trend of device mesh discussed about how sensors are no longer working in silos but are connected to one another. For instance, LG’s SmartThinQ and HomeChat systems have helped make the convenience of connected and smart living a reality for millions.

The SmartThinQ Sensor brings the interactivity of today’s most advanced intuitive devices to conventional “non-smart” appliances that lack internet connectivity. When connected to the SmartThinQ mobile application, the Sensor can be used to relay important information to users and provide important notifications, giving them all the benefits of a top-of-the-line smart appliance at a fraction of the cost.

LG’s future smart home can lead to an array of insights on daily patterns. For instance, connected to a refrigerator the Sensor tracks vibrations and temperatures, and can even notify users when certain foods near their expiration date. The Sensor is consumer-centric and designed with flexibility in mind, and its intuitive pairing process means that its applications are truly limitless.

“In 2016 it will become very apparent that enriching the lives of consumers is the driving force behind the futuristic innovation that the company is constantly engaged in. With so many new products on the way and a renewed emphasis on maintaining the company’s status as a trendsetter, 2016 will prove to be a year where the company makes an even larger impact on quality of life worldwide with original innovations,” Mr. Choi ended.

While LG is still looking for ways to create robotic vacuum cleaners, air conditioners and ovens that integrate the most advanced capabilities in order to enhance performance and usability, the company has also started approaching the Internet of Things (IoT), another trend which Gartner says will pave the way for new technologies next year, from an entirely new angle in its attempt to provide as many consumers as possible with the latest technology.

For example, the smart Music Flow™ wireless speakers use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth™ to connect with each other and create an intricate web of immersive sound. LG has positioned itself for success in the rapidly emerging IoT marketplace, and the coming year promises exciting progress being made.
