Amman, Jordan (February 2012) – LG Electronics, the global leader and technology innovator in digital technologies, hosted a number of active social media influencers and Bloggers from channels such as Facebook and Twitter.
The Tweetup, held at Vivid Café, gave attendees an opportunity to experience five of the latest LG products; Cinema 3D Smart TV, PenTouch TV, Solardom Oven, IPS Monitor, and Mouse Scanner. Attendees blogged and directly posted their experience on their respective social media channels.
This is the first LG initiative of its kind; stemming from the company’s belief in communicating with this new and promising media segment, in order to learn more about the latest trends. In addition, to the importance of print and digital social media channel integration, due to its large impact in reinforcing the LG brand, and creating a new means of productive social interaction between companies, institutes, and clients.
From his end the Managing Director of LG Electronics Levant – Jordan, Mr. Tae Hun Ryu, expressed his support for digital media integration into communication channels stressing on the importance of LG’s brand recognition and reinforcing its position in the region.
“I am very impressed with the number of professional twitter users and bloggers in Jordan, we will focus this year on activating social media in our marketing mix and investing in more social media activities” Mr. Tae Hun Ryu added.
Khalid Al Ahmad, an influential social media blogger was impressed with the level of top management commitment and participation “What I like most about this meeting is the participation of the LG managers, and their interaction, which is something unique. This highlights LG’s seriousness about digital media and its enthusiasm in being up to date on what is trending in Jordan and the world of social media”.
A number of Twitter users, and bloggers attended the event, including: Khalid Al Ahmad, listed as one of the 100 most influential Arab Twitter users, Zamil Safwan, who has over 13,000 follower on twitter, Lara Ayoub, Wajeeha Al Husseini, Suhail
Jouaneh, Abeer Qumsieh, Dina Batayneh, and Rajai Haddad. Attendees from LG Jordan included The general managers of the MC department, the IT department, the Brand Marketing department, the Online Marketing Manager, , and delegates from LG’s sole distributor in Jordan New Vision.
The LG Tweetup, trending on twitter as #LGTweetupJo included an interactive competition among the Tweeps. Where attendees were asked a series of questions regarding LG, and prizes were given including an Optimus 3D handset and 3 Optimus Black phones.
