LG INTRODUCES REVOLUTIONARY MOUSE SCANNER HYBRID “LSM-100”
Damascus, Syria; April, 2012 – LG Electronics (LG) will be opening a new era for scanners with the LSM-100, the mouse with a built-in scanner. Incorporating technology specifically designed for the new device, the LSM-100 offers an array of unique functions that blend surprising innovation and user convenience.
Operating the LSM-100’s scanning function is far more convenient than on conventional scanners; while holding the Smart Scan button on the left side of the mouse, the user simply swipes the mouse over the material to be scanned. The scanned image can then be saved in a variety of file types – PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PDF, XLS and DOC- or dragged and dropped into the desired application.
With the launch of the world’s first mouse scanner in Syria, LG’s General Manager Mr. Omar Choi noted, “LG has always been at the forefront of product innovation and the LSM-100 mouse scanner comes as a testament to our continued investment in Research and Development. The LSM-100 is easy to use and time efficient compared to traditional scanning devices”.
The LSM-100 also features OCR (Optical Character Recognition) that converts text from images into a Microsoft Word document that can be edited and manipulated as the user sees fit. By eliminating the need to retype text, the OCR saves users a great deal of time.
The mouse’s compact size belies its big-sized capabilities; because it’s not limited by a frame, the LSM-100 can scan page sized up to A3, larger than most conventional portable scanners. Also the scanning ability itself has been upgraded to handle faster pass-over rates, meaning that scanning an A3 sheet can be done smoothly and quickly.
To celebrate its launch in Syria, LG has created the “Scan it to Win it” online game which is available on the “LG Technovation Syria” Facebook page. The game is highly interactive and stimulates the actual functions of the mouse. The winner, which will be announced on May 6th, will receive a free mouse scanner. During May also, LG is preparing variety activity with Mouse Scanner to provide customer experience.
