Stream your favorite shows with
Apple AirPlay® on LG Hotel Smart TVs

With Apple AirPlay®, guests can stream content to LG Pro:Centric Smart Hotel TVs, right from their iPhone® or iPad®, whether it’s to watch movies and shows from their favorite apps or share what’s on their Apple devices, including photos, personal videos, games and more.

LG Pro:Centric AirPlay Support in Hotels:

LG’s Pro:Centric Hospitality Smart Television model series from webOS 5.0 onwards now support Apple AirPlay®. AirPlay enables a guest to privately and securely stream movies, music, photos and more directly from their iPhone® or iPad® to the LG TV in their room.
AirPlay is as easy to use in a hotel as it is at home. Guests connect their iPhone® or iPad® securely to the LG smart hotel TV by simply scanning a unique QR code presented on the Television. With no logins or passwords to remember and no separate app to download, this is a seamless way for hotel guests to enjoy their content on the big screen in their room.
Not only can guests use AirPlay to play content from popular streaming services such as Apple TV®, YouTube TV™ service, Prime Video™, and Disney+, they can also mirror what’s on their iPhone or iPad to share things like photos, personal videos, web pages, and other content. *

AirPlay Casting Requirements

A system integrator will be required to introduce AirPlay within a hotel brands’ properties to manage the implementation of the technology, i.e. enabling and configuring of the AirPlay service, installing and managing the Gateway and associated network services, and adding the UX elements to the in-room Television application.

There are four main components to the AirPlay implementation requirements:

1. AirPlay in Hotels Requirements

AirPlay requires the implementation of the Gateway and associated network services, including the UX elements onto the in-room Smart TV application. Hotel brands and system integrators (SI) who are interested in enabling AirPlay can reach out LG to verify technical eligibility. All parties must also secure an AirPlay license from Apple.

2. Gateway Requirements

The Gateway is set up within the same network as the Televisions and manages the database of valid room numbers and Television names and the associated device pairing process. All Televisions register with the gateway and once the guest accesses the QR code with their mobile device, it’s assigned to that Television/room and pairing is initiated. The Gateway must have access to PMS check in/out events to terminate the pairing process.

3. Graphical User Interface Requirements

An on-screen QR code within the menu/user interface of the Television must be presented to facilitate the guest pairing process. This is generally served via a 3rd Party SI Partner Application running on the smart Television. LG provides the basic template for the QR code, and final QR code designs must be approved prior to release.

4. Apple Device Requirements

AirPlay in hotels requires iPhone Xs or later running iOS 17.3 or later; or iPad (6th generation or later), iPad mini (5th generation or later), iPad Air (3rd generation or later), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (2nd generation or later), 10.5-inch iPad Pro, or 11-inch iPad Pro (1st generation or later) running iPadOS 17.3 or later.
