LG Air Conditioner - How To Connect an LG A/C To Wi-Fi

   Connecting Your Air Conditioner to the LG ThinQ app - Android Phones

   If you have LG electronic products, you can make your life a lot easier by connecting them to the ThinQ app.

   Things to check before connecting to the ThinQ app. Before connecting your product to the ThinQ app, ensure that both your air conditioner and wireless router are powered on and connect your mobile device to Wi-Fi.

   If you haven't downloaded the ThinQ app, download it from the Google Play Store, launch the app, sign up, and log in.

   Now let's learn how to connect your air conditioner to the ThinQ app. On the ThinQ app's home screen tap the plus sign and select “Add Products”. You can scan the QR code on the side of the air conditioner or you can choose to add the product manually by selecting try adding manually at the bottom of the screen.

   Read the “Preparing to Connect Instructions” then click next. You can either select the air conditioner from the list of nearby devices or directly from the product list below.

   Select your Wi-Fi network for the product and press the Wi-Fi setup button for 3 seconds following the app's instructions. Tap next in the ThinQ app and place your mobile device close to the product and wait a moment for the product to connect.

   When the screen changes to “Product Successfully Added” tap okay to update the product information to the latest version.

   Once the update is complete, go back to the home screen by pressing “Go to Home” you will now see the newly added air conditioner and the registration process is completed

   1. Confirm Your Air Conditioner is Wi-Fi enabled.

      If the unit does not have the Wi-Fi icon, it would not be compatible with the ThinQ app.

   2. Install and Login the ThinQ app

      Follow the instructions to install and login/create an account

   3. Adding a product to the thinQ App

      1From the ThinQ app dashboard, tap on the “+”.

   4. Finishing the setup

      1Select your Air Conditioner type from the list.

      2Follow the on screen prompts to complete setup.

      3Once the authentication process has completed, you will see a success message and you can register your product and enter a nickname for your appliance.

   Press the Wi-Fi setup button for 3 seconds, following the app's instructions, tap “Next” in the ThinQ app. To configure Wi-Fi on your iPhone, follow these steps: Go to your iPhone's home screen. Tap the settings icon and access the Wi-Fi menu. For a network name starting with LG AC or LGEWhisen followed by four digits or letters, simply enter the last four digits or letters twice as the password. For a network name that begins with LG AC or LGEWhisen followed by six digits or letters, simply enter lg1 2345 as the password.

   Return to the ThinQ app, select the Wi-Fi network to connect, and enter the password. To establish the connection, place your mobile device close to the product and wait a moment for the product to connect.

   When the screen changes to “Product Successfully Added”, tap okay to update the product information to the latest version.

   Once the update is complete, go back to the home screen by pressing “Go to Home”. You will now see the newly added air conditioner and the registration process is completed

   5. Ensuring the Wifi is set up on the phone

      2Select the product network name.

      3Enter password for product network. Password will be last 4 digits of network name repeated.

      Note

      Password for appliance will be the last 4 digits of the product name repeated twice. (Ex. For product LG_Dishwasher_58a9 the password would be 58a958a9.)

      • LG_Smart_xxxx (4-digit numbers or letters) : xxxx twice
      • LG_Smart_xx-xx-xx (6-digit numbers or letters): lge12345
      • LG_Smart_ (no number/letter) : No password input
      • [LG_product name] xxxx (if there are square brackets) : 1111122222

   6. Final Steps

      1When the Set Network screen appears, select your home network’s ID and enter your home Wi-Fi password and tap ’Connect’

      2Wait for the dive to finish connecting.

      3Once the authentication process has completed, you will see a success message and you can register your product and enter a nickname for your appliance.
