At a Glance
The LG Universal Control Setting allows you to control both your TV and set-top box using the Magic Remote.
Note
LG Smart TVs with WebOS 5.0 or newer will automatically execute the Universal Control Setting under certain conditions.
- [WebOS 23, WebOS 24] Press [Settings] on your magic remote → [All Settings] → [General] → [External Devices] → [Universal Control Settings].
- [WebOS 6.0, WebOS 22] Press [Settings] on your magic remote → [All Settings] → [General] → [Device] → [External Devices] → [Universal Control Settings].
- [WebOS 5.0] Press [Settings] on your magic remote → [All Settings] → [Connection] →[Device Connection Settings] → [Universal Control Settings].
- [WebOS 4.5] Press [Settings] on your magic remote → [All Settings] → [Connection] → [Device Connector] → [Universal Control Settings].
- [ WebOS 4.0] Press the [Home] button on your magic remote → Select [Device Connector] from the app list → Follow the on-screen prompts.

1Turn on the TV and press the button on your LG TV remote.
2Select the [Gear Icon] to open the Settings Menu.
3Select [General].
4Select [External Devices].
5Then select [Universal Control Settings].
6Select [Manage Settings].
7Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.
