With the LG V35ThinQ Camera, capture what you see, how you want to see it with enhanced speed and accuracy even in low light.

The LG V35ThinQ includes multiple rear facing cameras to always get the best shot, these include:

  • Standard camera icon - 16MP Standard Angle Lens

  • Wide angle camera icon - 16MP Wide Angle Lens

Note: Some Settings, Menus, or Icons may differ from that of your device depending on your software version and wireless service provider.

Take a Photo or Video

  1. Open the Camera icon , then tap icon > Auto Camera icon to change the mode.

  2. Tap icon to switch to the standard camera or icon to switch to the wide angle camera.

  3. Tap the screen to focus the camera.

  4. Tap Take Photo or tap Volume Up or Volume Down button to take a photo. Tap Record Video to start recording on your LG V35ThinQ.

    1. Tap on Flash mode icon to cycle though the settings; Flash Off icon , Flash On icon , Auto Flash icon .

    Note: If HDR is set to ON, you cannot use the flash or change the setting.

    1. Tap on icon to switch to the front camera.

    2. Use the slider on screen to adjust the brightness of the photo.

    When using the front facing camera, additional options available under the Gear icon are:

    • Selfie Shot: Take a selfie by selecting between Gesture shot and Auto shot.
    • Gesture View: Allows you to view the photo immediately after taking it.
    • Save as Flipped: Save as flipped images after taking selfies.
    1. Tap on Film Filter Effect icon to apply a color or look to your photos prior to taking a picture or video.

  • Tap on the Gear icon icon to change the following settings:

    • Super Bright Camera: Take bright and clear photos/videos in the dark. Not available in UHD and 60fps.
    • Photo Size: Select the desired value for the aspect ratio and size of your photos.
    • Video Resolution: Select the desired value for resolution and size of your videos.
    • HDR: Obtain photos in vivid colors and get compensate defects even when they are taken against the light.These functions are provided by the high dynamic range(HDR) technology equipped in the camera.
    • Timer: Set the timer to automatically take photos after a specified period of time.
    • Live photo: Record the action before and after you take a photo.
    • Cheese shutter / Voice shutter: take a photo by saying "cheese", "smile", "whiskey", "Kimchi" or "LG".
    • Tag Locations: Save the image with GPS location data.
    • Grid: Display guide grids so that you can take photos or record videos based on the horizontal and vertical reference lines.
    • Add Signature: Display a personalized signature on the photos.
    • Storage: Select if you want to store the pictures and videos in the Internal storage or SD card (available when memory card is inserted) of your LG V35ThinQ.
    • Help: Provide help information for each camera menu.
    • Note: Video resolution, Photo resolution, Timer, and Fullvision are not quick settings grouped together at the bottom of settings.
      Some settings may not be available or differ depending on the camera mode.

Take a Photo or Video

  1. Open the Camera icon , then tap icon > Manual Camera icon to change the mode.

  2. Tap icon to switch to the standard camera or icon to switch to the wide angle camera.

  3. Tap the screen to focus the camera of your LG V35ThinQ.

  4. Tap Take Photo or tap Volume Up or Volume Down button to take a photo. Slide Take photo button up or down to zoom in and out respectively.

    1. Tap on Flash mode icon to cycle though the settings; Flash Off icon , Flash On icon , Auto Flash icon .

    • Tap on Film Filter Effect to apply a color or look to your photos live while taking a picture or video.

    • Tap on Graphy for a list of preset camera settings to add even more depth, color or style to your photos

  • Tap on the Gear icon icon to change the following settings:

    • Photo Size: Select the desired value for the aspect ratio and size of your photos.
    • Timer: Set the timer to automatically take photos after a specified period of time.
    • Graphy Photos: Adjust the white balance, ISO and shutter speed referring to one of the recommended photos.
    • Cheese shutter / Voice Shutter: take a photo by saying "cheese", "smile", "whiskey", "Kimchi" or "LG".
    • Tag Locations: Save the image with GPS location data.
    • Guide: Display guide grids so that you can take photos based on the horizontal and vertical reference lines.
    • Save as RAW: The image is stored as a RAW file format so that you can modify it. DNG and JPEG files are created while taking a photo, then saved as a non-compressed high resolution image.
    • Add signature: Display a personalized signature on the photos.
    • Storage: Select if you want to store the pictures and videos in the Internal storage or SD card (available when memory card is inserted) of your LG V35ThinQ.
    • Help: Provide help information for each camera menu.

    Note: Video resolution, Photo resolution, Timer, and Fullvision are not quick settings grouped together at the bottom of settings.

  • Exposure is the amount of light captured to create a photo and it is made up of 3 properties:

    • Shutter Speed icon
    • ISO icon

    Example: How you achieve correct lighting through adjusting Shutter Speed:

Take a Photo or Video

  1. Open the Camera icon , then tap icon > Manual video icon to change the mode.

  2. Tap icon to switch to the standard camera or icon to switch to the wide angle camera.

  3. Tap the screen to focus the camera.

  4. Tap Take Photo or tap Volume Up or Volume Down button to take a photo. Tap Record video to start recording.

    1. Tap on Flash mode icon to cycle though the settings; Flash Off icon , Flash On icon .

    1. Tap on Film Filter Effect icon to apply a color or look to your video prior to recording a video.

  • Tap on the Gear icon icon to change the following settings:

    • Video Resolution: Select the desired value for resolution and size of your videos.
    • Frame Rate: Select the frames per second value.
    • Bit Rate: Select the image quality for videos.
    • Hi-Fi: Record a video with Hi-Fi quality sound.
    • Timer: Set the timer to automatically take a video after a specified period of time.
    • Steady Recording: Minimize motion blur while recording a video.
    • Save as HDR10: Record videos in HDR19 for vivid colors and higher quality.
    • Tag Locations: Save the image with GPS location data.
    • Grid: Display guide grids so that you can record videos based on the horizontal and vertical reference lines.
    • Help: Provide help information for each camera menu.

Additional Camera Settings

  • A clever camera that recognizes puppies—or food, landscapes, people, and more to suggest the best filters for your specific scene

    1. Open the Camera icon

    2. Select AI CAM

    3. The camera analyzes subjects in your frame

    4. The camera prompts you to choose from four enhanced filter options

  • Focus on up to 5 different friends, so everyone gets their moment to shine.

    1. Open the Camera icon

    2. Select Portrait

    If the subject is 1.3 - 5 ft. from the camera, from the camera a outfocus effect is applied. Use the scroll bar to increase or decrease the effect.

    To adjust the Portrait effect after capture:

    1. Open the Gallery locate and open the photo

    2. Tap the icon icon in the upper right

    3. Note: If the icon is not present in the Gallery then the photo was not captured properly and adjustment is not be possible.

    4. Adjust the slider to increase or decrease the effect

    5. Tap to SAVE A COPY or OK to save

  • Learn more about the world around you! With the snap of a photo and AI integration, nothing is beyond your virtual reach. Identify real-life objects using the camera and instantly access detailed info on line. People are already using it to answer all kinds of questions, especially when they’re difficult to describe in a search box, like “what type of dog is that?” or “what’s that building called?”.

    What it can do

    • Smart text selection:
      You can copy and paste text from the real world like recipes, gift card codes, or Wi-Fi passwords to your phone. Lens helps you make sense of a page of words by showing you relevant information and photos. Say you’re at a restaurant and see the name of a dish you don’t recognize, Lens will show you a picture to give you a better idea.

    • Style match:
      Sometimes your question is not, “what is that exact thing?” but instead, "what are things like it?" Now, with style match, if an outfit or home decor item catch your eye, you can open Lens and not only get info on that specific item, like reviews, but see things in a similar style that fit the look you like.

    • Real time results:
      Lens now works in real time. It’s able to pro-actively bring information instantly and anchor it to the things you see. Now you’ll be able to browse the world around you, just by pointing your camera. This is only possible with state-of-the-art machine learning, using both on-device intelligence and cloud TPUs, to identify billions of words, phrases, places, and things in a split second.

    2 ways to activate Google Lens:

    1. Open the Camera icon and click Google Lens.

    2. Note: For previously taken photos, open the Google Photos > select a photo > Google Lens.

    3. Open Google assistant by pressing and holding the Home key icon at the bottom of the phone and then select Google lens icon

  • Get the best out of every moment with a camera so smart, that it knows when it’s too dark and automatically increases the brightness of each shot.

    Note: Not available in UHD and 60 fps

    1. Open the Camera icon

    2. Select Settings icon

    3. Toggle Super Bright Camera ON icon or OFF icon

  • Life is always in motion, and now your photos are too! Your clever camera captures the moments just before and after you take the picture, so you can get moving shots that truly tell your story, audio and all! You are able to record to record a little before and after the picture is captured.

    1. Open the Camera icon

    2. Select Settings icon

    3. Toggle Live photo ON icon or OFF icon

  • Add 2D and 3D face sticker effects on LG Camera App.

    Note:
    • Not all camera modes support stickers.
    • Once opening the camera app, you can switch between back and front camera by sliding your finger on the screen or tap the Switch Camera icon icon.

    Back camera

    1. Open the Camera icon

    2. Tap the Filter / Sticker icon icon.

    3. Select Camera Sticker icon

    4. Pick from the 4 categories, icon and select the desired stickers

    5. Take pictures.

    Front facing camera

    1. Open the Camera icon

    2. Select Camera Sticker icon

    3. Pick from the 4 categories, icon and select the desired stickers

    4. Take pictures.

  • If you want more options than the preset, you can always download some at LG's SmartWorld.

    1. Open the Camera icon

    2. When you see the download icon icon on the preview screen than there is a download from Smart World available. Tap the icon to navigate to Smart World and download the content.

Additional Camera Modes

    • Select an effect to apply to the recording. You can also adjust the vignette and strength for each Cine effect. This feature cannot be changed after you have started recording.

    • You can optimize the quality of your food photos or videos by adjusting the color slide bar and white balance.

    • You can create an entertaining video by changing the moving speeds of subjects in your video. This feature allows you to record a video at a faster rate of speed and then play it at the standard speed so that the video appears to be slowed down.

    • You can create a panoramic photo by moving the camera in one direction to photograph and stitch continuous shots of a wide view.

    • Photos are taken every 3 seconds and saved as a GIF file.
