Sim Card and PUK troubleshooting - Mobile

This article is regarding issues with SIM cards.

  1. Issue


    What issue are you experiencing?

  2. SIM Troubleshooting


    1. Eject the SIM card tray from the device.

    2. Ensure that there are no obstructions in the devices SIM port, or damage on the SIM card tray.

    3. Ensure that the gold contact points on your sim card are clean.

      Note: You can use rubbing alcohol to remove any imperfections.

  3. Reset Network Settings


    Swipe down the notification tray and press the Settings icon in the top right.

    Go to the General tab.

    Scroll down and press Restart and Reset

    Select Network Settings Reset from the menu.

    Press Reset Settings

    Note: This will erase your WiFi and Bluetooth settings from your device as well.

    Restart the device.

  4. Carrier Select

    Retrieving a PUK Code will vary depending on your device, and what carrier you use. Service providers are the only ones that will be able to send a PUK code. A PUK will prevent the use of the device. "Emergency Only" calls (also known as SOS calls) are the only function the device will able to perform until the SIM is unlocked. Please select your carrier below for further instructions.

    • You will be able to find information regarding PUK codes when you login to your My Verizon account on Verizons website.

      If you are unable to find the PUK code, you are required to contact Verizon customer support directly for additional troubleshooting steps.

    • AT&T requires that you go through there troubleshooting steps to acquire the PUK code for your device.

      If you are unable to find the PUK code, you are required to contact AT&T customer support directly for additional troubleshooting steps.

    • T-Mobile requires that you contact them directly to obtain a PUK code from them.

    • If you can not obtain your PUK code, the only option you have is to contact your carrier. See below for a list of other common carrier contact pages.
