This article is regarding issues that arise in mobile device software updates.

  • If you are experiencing a slow download, we recommend following the steps below.

    • Ensure that you are using Wi-Fi to download the update. Mobile data could be slower than your home Wi-Fi connection.
    • Ensure that they have a fast internet connection. If it is slow, it could simply be that they have to wait or move closer to the router.
    • Note: You can run a speed test in your internet browser to see your internet speed.

  • If you are using a custom Rom you will need to lock the boot loader and revert back to the stock version that came with the device.

    If you are using LG Bridge to update the device, we recommend you try reinstalling the application and trying again. If you are attempting to update OTA, we recommend contacting your carrier for additional troubleshooting steps.

    If this does not resolve your issue, you may also contact LG customer support.

  • Due to the nature of your complaint, we recommend that you chat with a customer support representative.
  • If the update fails we recommend following these steps:

    Swipe down the notification tray and press the Settings icon in the top right.

    Go to the General tab and select Storage.

    Select Internal Storage.

    Select Free Up Space.

    Clean up Temporary files & raw files and try to update again.
